MEASUREMENT ROLE

Distance becomes a usable voltage signal

Within a complete 3300 XL 8 mm transducer system, the probe observes a conductive target. System output is proportional to probe-tip distance and supports both static position and dynamic vibration measurement.

Primary official applications include vibration and position on fluid-film bearing machines, plus Keyphasor reference and speed measurement.

INSTALLATION ENVELOPE

Target geometry

Use a flat target at least 15.2 mm in diameter. Recommended minimum shaft diameter is 76.2 mm; smaller shafts can change scale factor.

Probe separation

Maintain approximately 40 mm tip separation for axial position or 38 mm for radial vibration to limit cross-talk.

Fluid path control

The selected FluidLoc cable option helps prevent oil or other liquids from escaping through the cable interior.

Three components form the measurement chain

SENSING POINT

3300 XL 8 mm probe

Observes the conductive target without contact. This order identifies the metric armored probe.

SYSTEM LENGTH

Extension cable

Completes the selected system length where required and connects the probe to the signal conditioner.

SIGNAL CONDITIONING

Proximitor Sensor

Produces voltage proportional to the distance between the probe tip and conductive surface.

CONNECTION ENGINEERING

ClickLoc interface

Gold-plated, corrosion-resistant ClickLoc connectors tighten by hand and click when properly seated. The locking design helps prevent loosening and requires no special installation or removal tools.

This configuration includes a connector protector for increased environmental protection.

FluidLoc option

FluidLoc construction is intended to prevent oil and other liquids from leaking out of the machine through the cable interior.

Designed for component interchangeability

3300 XL 8 mm probes, extension cables and Proximitor Sensors support complete interchangeability within the 3300 XL 8 mm system, removing the need to match or bench-calibrate individual XL components. XL components are also physically and electrically interchangeable with applicable non-XL 3300-series 5 mm and 8 mm components.

ENGINEERING LIMIT

When XL and non-XL components are mixed, overall performance is limited to the non-XL system specification. Maintain the permitted cable bend radius.
