1.Product role
RDCU-02C is the standard main-control plug-in for the ACS800-01/04/07 family. It holds the complete motor-control algorithms, field-bus protocols, I/O map and safety functions. The board mates with the back-plane connector; hot-swap takes less than three minutes and the drive automatically recognises the previous parameters—no firmware reload or re-tuning is required.

On-board I/O: 14 DI (24 VDC, 1 ms filter), 6 AI (±10 V / 0–20 mA / 4–20 mA, 12-bit), 7 DO (24 VDC, 0.5 A), 2 AO (±10 V / 0–20 mA, 11-bit)
Expansion: up to eight RDCO-0x slices, max. 256 DI / 128 AI in total
Safety: built-in STO, IEC 61800-5-2 SIL3 / PL-e, < 10 ms reaction, no external relays needed

3.Compatibility & replacement
ACS800-01/04: insert in Option slot 1, parameters read automatically
ACS800-07: requires NRED-01 adapter cable 0.5 m (supplied)
ACS800-17 (AFE) or ACH550: different interface—use RDCU-12C instead
Legacy RDCU-01/03: downward compatible; firmware upgrade to V8.0 or later recommended for latest GSD/EDS files

Boards are shipped with default V8.0.14 firmware offering:
DTC vector for induction, synchronous, PM and SynRM motors
Dual independent PID, multi-step speed, torque memory, mechanical brake sequence
Field-bus GSD/EDS: PROFIBUS DP-V1, DeviceNet, CANopen, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP
Users can change language set, back up parameters and read event logs via DriveWindow 2.30 or Control Assistant
